Sheraton Kauai Resort Situated on the light-colored sand of Poipu Beach, this resort provides a South Kauai vacation of swimming and sunning. Each of the 415 air-conditioned, spacious guestrooms includes refrigerators and a furnished lanai overlooking the resort's gardens, ponds, and/or the ocean. Spread over 20 acres of oceanfront, the Sheraton Kauai appeals to families and romance-seeking couples. The soothing sound of surf rolling across the lava-rock point in the resort's center contributes to the relaxing ambience.
The crescent of pale, powdery sand extending a quarter-mile from the resort's center is irresistible, and excellent snorkeling waters border the resort's lava-rock point. There are two pools: one, with a slide and an adjacent spa tub, is near the beach; the other is across the street in the resort's northern section. An oceanside lawn provides a popular sunning spot. The resort offers three tennis courts, a large fitness center with an ocean view, a massage/facial center, and a library with four computers with high-speed Internet access. The concierge desk in the lobby books golf times, luaus, and helicopter sightseeing trips to North Kauai's spectacular coast and arranges other activities.
The 415 air-conditioned rooms include furnished lanais with ocean or garden views. Island-style decor with rich woods. Refrigerators, bathrobes, video game consoles, and in-room safes are included. Naniwa Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar - Intimate and stylish Japanese restaurant and sushi bar, located behind a low dividing wall at one end of Shells Restaurant. Dinner only; reservaitons recommended. Shells Steak & Seafood Restaurant - Sweeping ocean view. Serves buffet breakfasts daily (as well as an à la carte menu) and seafood buffets on Friday nights. Other nights, specialties include local seafood, steaks, and prime rib. Children 12 years and younger dine free (one child per adult, maximum of two children per table). Dinner reservations recommended. Amore Ristorante Italiano - Located at one end of Shells, this romantic spot serves traditional Italian cuisine such as pasta, prosciutto, pork, veal, lasagna, and lobster ravioli. Fine ocean views. Open nightly for dinner Sheraton Kauai Resort has three tennis courts (two lighted). Kiahuna Golf Course is a five-minute drive away, and the Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course is 10 minutes away.
